Some Highlights from January 2025.

This year I’m working on a series of digital paintings made in Inkscape of abstract grids of multi-color squares. Check out the January 2025 paintings and print out a free zine the series.
Over the last few years I wrote poetry based prompts posted on a mastodon by a community of writers who share haiku prompts everyday. Read the haiku here. I am finishing up a book collection of this poetry that will be released this spring on trade paperback with blurb.
This year I am experimenting with form. Trying out sonnets and villanelle forms. For January, I wrote a villanelle 19 lines: five tercets and a quatrain. But instead of ten syllable rhyming lines, I used a sort of haiku structure of 5-7-5 for syllables for the five tercets and 5-7-5-7 syllables for the quatrain ending. Read the poem here.
